Glorious antique church vestments bolster

This ample pillow is made from our valued collection of very rare circa 1800s textiles. Any of the many superlatives we could use here pale when describing the nearly abandoned skills required in stitching these sculpted designs in metallic threads. A lost art to be sure. This fragment of an ecumenical vestment is rich in classic motifs on now beautifully worn pink velvet. Metallic braid set on dark taupe velour. Velcro close, feather/down/poly filled. 16” X 33”.
